If your computer isn’t running the way it should, you’re getting strange errors or you just want to return it to its default state, Windows 8/8.1 has your answer. The operating system provides a number of options that let you restore your computer to an earlier state.
All the installation process will go on C Drive, so don’t panic, your other drives are fully safe.
- Hover your mouse over the right top (or right bottom) corner of your screen to bring up the Charms menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select More PC Settings at the bottom.
- Select General then select either Refresh or Reset according to your need
And relax, your PC will go in it’s native mode. If you had selected option to save your data, you will find a folder with name Windows Old in drive C:, all old data of C: Drive is in that.
